The Chairman’s Award was created to keep the central focus of the FIRST Robotics Competition as our ultimate goal for transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encourage more of today’s youth to become scientists, engineers, and technologists.
The Chairman’s Award represents the spirit of FIRST. It honors the team that, in the judges’ estimation, best represents a model for other teams to emulate, and which embodies the goals and purpose of FIRST. It remains FIRST’s most prestigious award.
Mentor: Ms. Byron
This is the most prestigious award given by FIRST in recognition of a team’s commitment and efforts to spreading the FIRST Mission. This group prepares a submission in accordance with FIRST Regulations documenting our teams efforts, acheivements, and commitment.
Public Relations is responsible for communicating team activities to our community via Cable TV, News, Newspaper articles, School Announcements, Magazines, and other mediums.
Due to the nature of the competition, we need to market ourselves within the FIRST community and build our team indentity. This group will create a martketing campaign and present it to the team for approval.
This group designs and updates our website, a key communications tool. In coordination with the Chairman’s documentation role, the WebSite Group publishes their efforts, which enhances the concept of Team HYPER. You’re viewing a page on this website now.
HYPER sponsors several events throughout the year that help spread the FIRST message to young and old alike. These events include, but are not limited to Lego League Tournament, Mini Meet, and a Team Regional Dinner.
